Narayana Bali is conducted to fulfil the unsatisfied wishes of the souls of the ancestors who are trapped in this world. • These dissatisfied souls of ancestors create problems problems for their children. • Narayan Bali Pooja is prayers to Lord Vishnu to placate Lord Narayan for the unnatural deaths. • More information is also available in the 40th chapter of the Garuda Purana, which is dedicated to the Narayana Bali Rites.

Narayana Bali puja is made up of two distinct rites. • NarayanaBali is performed to remove ancestral curses (Pitru dosh/PitruShaap). • NarayanaBali is performed in the same manner as a Hindu funeral. • A synthetic body, primarily consisting of wheat flour, is used. • Mantras are used to summon souls that have specific wishes to remain bonded. • The ritual allows them to possess the body, and the burial allows them to escape to the other world.
