  1. A Guide To Daily, Weekly And Monthly Cleaning In Your Home

  2. There can be no doubt that cleaning schedules are very helpful, particularly if you have a messy home with pets and kids, but it can be tricky to prioritize tasks and to know which cleaning chores should be performed more often than others. Follow the brief guide below for tips and pointers on how to set up a cleaning schedule for your home:

  3. Cleaning tasks that should be performed daily: The tasks that should be carried out every day in your home, are the ones that cover the bare minimum, meaning that if you do nothing else, you should at the very least, do these. Some examples would be laundry (depending on how quickly you get through clean clothes and how many members of your household there are), wiping up spillages on surfaces, hanging up wet towels to dry, putting bleach into the toilet bowl, wiping down the shower after use and putting items back where they belong after use – this is particularly important if you have small children.

  4. Tasks that should be performed on a weekly basis: Some of the tasks that you can schedule in to be completed at least weekly, may need to be done more often, a lot will depend on you and the other inhabitants of your home. When you choose the most convenient day of the week to perform these cleaning tasks, don’t forget to include the usual daily cleaning tasks, too. Or, work these weekly cleaning chores into your daily schedule; whatever works best for you. Some examples of weekly cleaning tasks might be to take out the trash and clean the can, give your refrigerator a quick clean inside, wiping light switches and door handles, vacuuming and mopping any tiled floors and dusting surfaces and ornaments etc.

  5. Monthly cleaning tasks: The tasks included in your monthly schedule can usually afford to be neglected during your daily and weekly tasks but should be carried out at least every month to ensure that your home doesn’t get too grimy and cluttered. It might be that your washing machine and dishwasher need to be cleaned if you use both items frequently, and as these tasks involve running both machines with cleaning solutions, they don’t take up too much time, but can take longer if they are left to get really grimy. Some like to clean their bedding every month, and any children in the household (if old enough) should be encouraged to blitz their bedrooms once a month. Windows get grubby quickly and really benefit from being cleaned once a month if you have time, as do bathrooms and kitchens.

  6. Cleaning tasks that are dependent on the seasons: Some of these seasonal cleaning tasks can be performed just twice a year, or every six months, but depending on the conditions, may need to be done every couple of months instead. Spring is a great time to blitz your entire home top to bottom, and winter may see you storing summer items away for safekeeping or having a yard sale to declutter before the festive period. However, cleaning schedules are not for everyone, and if cleaning regularly is something that you don’t have the time to do, or simply don’t want to do, then you should consider using the services of a professional cleaning company who will take away the hard work and get your home clean for you.
