  1. What Cleaning Tasks Should Be Done Daily, Weekly & Monthly?

  2. Sometimes, cleaning can become a bit overwhelming, and without any organisation and pre-planning, it can be a struggle to keep on top of everything. However, by giving certain cleaning tasks a schedule, it can be easier to organize your cleaning and keep your home spick and span all of the time. Daily cleaning tasks Wiping up kitchen or bathroom spillages as soon as they occur can prevent sticky, tough to remove stains from occurring, saving you a lot of time and effort later on.

  3. Doing the dishes after every meal helps keep smells and bacteria at bay. Disinfect the sinks, tubs and toilets in your bathroom(s) with a spray on solution to keep it hygienic and smelling clean every day. Keep on top of the laundry as letting it build up over days simply makes your job much harder. If you don’t have enough for a full load one day, wait until you do, but sometimes, even a small load can help prevent a laundry pile-up from occurring, especially in busy households.

  4. Make your bed every morning and pick up any items from the floor or scattered over available surfaces, this is especially important in the kids’ rooms, as these can quickly turn into bomb sites if not tended to every day. Weekly cleaning tasks Dusting the furniture takes just a few minutes with a damp microfiber cloth, but will prevent a build up of dust and keep allergens at bay. Change your bedding at least every 10 days, but ideally every week before bed bugs and other microscopic creepy crawlies make your bed their permanent home.

  5. Vacuum the floors as often as needed, but never less than weekly. A high-quality vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter will help keep your floors, carpets and rugs dust and dirt free for longer. Monthly cleaning tasks Deep clean the kitchen to keep it hygienic and free from pests and germs. While it takes a bit longer to clean it from top to bottom, it’s well worth the effort and you’ll be surprised at just how greasy and grimy your kitchen cabinets and surfaces get. Clean the refrigerator inside and out, too, and sanitize your dishwasher and trash can.

  6. Vacuum vents to stop too much dirt, dust and debris from building up in the air registers and making the air in your home unhealthy. Most vacuum cleaners have a long hose attachment, and you can use this to reach the ducts and clean them thoroughly. Cleaning light fixtures at least once a month will help stop dust and other particles from making their way to other areas of your home, and you’ll get the full effect of your lights, too! Don’t forget to wipe down switches, too, although ideally this should be done every other day to keep them hygienically clean.

  7. Cleaning your cleaning tools and appliances so that you’re not trying to keep a clean home with dirty tools, and so that your appliances work effectively, should be done at least once a month. Whether you’re super organized and set up a spreadsheet or timetable to stick to, or simply try to remember what to clean and when, sticking to it is the most important thing. Once you dedicate a little time every day, week and month to just a few cleaning tasks, your home will look and feel much cleaner. Or, try hiring a cleaner and make cleaning schedules their concern, not yours!
