  1. What makes you more susceptible to coughs Allergies If you are allergic to certain particles such as dust, or shedding of pet hair or any other such thing, you are more susceptible to developing coughs and are often looking for cough remedies that are soothing rather that ones that are meant to get rid of a Bacterial infection. Slide 2 Irritants Chemicals can often cause a bad reaction leading to debilitating coughs for certain people. An exposure to chemicals can occur even from spending 15 minutes in a freshly painted room. Tobacco smoke also acts as an irritant for people, both smokers and non-smokers- making it a cause for coughs.

  2. Air Quality The air quality largely dictates the susceptibility to coughs. With pollution at a rise it is very likely for you to develop a hoarse throat and feel a tingling at the back of your throat especially during winters where the pollution levels are worse. Slide 4 Chronic Sinus If you have a sinus issue, it is very likely that the sinus would further cause a cough due to dripping of mucus at the back of your throat. It is essential to have a cough medicine handy in this case, to ensure that it soothes your throat and that you can recover faster. Slide 5 Age Children are more likely to fall ill with a sore throat or a cough, whether it’s the common flu or a bacterial infection. With age, as immunity levels drop, people are again more susceptible to illnesses so it is important to take the right kind of precautions and maintain a healthy lifestyle with adequate hygiene regimes in place.
