  2. A B O U T The Bihou's year-round soft golden yellow bark and newly emerging salmon- colored branches add a wow factor to your yard no matter what the season.

  3. It is rare to locate a Japanese maple that is attractive all year long. The Bihou also has brilliant leaves that change color with the seasons. In the spring and summer, the leaves have green centers and red edges. In the fall, they become a striking yellow- orange color.

  4. P L A N T I N G & C A R E In northern places, the Bihou Japanese Maple can be cultivated in full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily). If you reside somewhere warmer, provide some partial shade (particularly in the afternoon) or choose places with predominantly morning sun. In any event, the optimum soil has good drainage.

  5. W A T E R I N G When it's hot and dry outside, deeply water the area around the plant once or twice a week. If you're unclear when to water, simply probe the nearby soil four inches deep and water when it seems dry.

  6. F E R T I L I Z I N G Japanese maples don't need much food to survive, thus they usually don't need any additional fertilizer. When fertilizing, if at all, use a slow-release fertilizer and do it in the spring.

  7. P R U N I N G The Bihou Japanese Maple won't typically need trimming, aside from the occasional "wayward" or damaged limb.

  8. This Japanese maple's golden bark can survive the elements and, with proper care, is said to live for a century. It is especially easy to grow because it only needs a little watering and well-drained soil. It is easily resistant to low light conditions and adds color to otherwise dreary spaces. No matter how you choose to display it, the gorgeous Bihou Japanese Maple will provide a special touch to your yard. No matter the season, the Bihou's year-round soft golden yellow bark and newly budding salmon-colored branches provide your yard with a wow effect.
