  2. Discover the 4 esports events that you cannot miss during this year 2021

  3. 4 esports events in 2021 that you cannot miss 2020 had its ups and downs, but it sure was a huge spike up for some industries. Such is the esports industry and the gaming industry, and despite that, live esports events became a thing of the past with the global pandemic and all of the protective measures that came alongside the virus. Now, in 2021, everything is looking good again, and with a bit of hope, organizations are looking to start live esports events once again, just like they were held back in the day when everything was normal. We all know that it's not going to be easy, but with more and more measures getting lifted around the world and more and more people getting vaccinated, things are looking good from where we are standing!

  4. In Cooldown, as gaming lovers ourselves, we can't look at the list of gaming events getting hosted this year and not have a smile on our face. We cannot believe that we might be able to watch our favorite teams competing in front of a live audience! Below, we are going to talk about some of the best esports events that will be coming this year and why you shouldn't miss any of them (if you love the game that's being played, of course). So, take a read and tell us if there are any other esports events that you might want us to talk about!

  5. The Internationals 10 ● ● Location: Stockholm Start Date: the 5th of August After a whole year of being removed and their indefinite postponement, TI 10 (The Internationals 10) is back. And Valve has finally confirmed the time and place for the event.

  6. They've decided previously that the event will take place in Stockholm, and now they have set the date of the event. The Internationals will start on the 5th of August, and the group stage will be played until the 8th of August. The teams will get back to playing after a free day, and on the 9th and the 10th of August, they will play for the main event. The event formats are not decided yet, but people think that they will be the same as the previous 9 installments. 18 teams will be playing in the tournament, a double round-robin format in the group stages. The top four teams of the two groups start in the upper bracket, and the bottom four survivors are in the lower bracket.

  7. Valve hasn't decided if The Internationals 10 will be hosted in front of a live audience or will only be streamed online. The first Major interregional event held in over a year – The One Esports Singapore, didn't host any live audience, and the players from different teams never came into contact with one another. Hopefully, the situation will change until August, but nobody knows what the future of esports holds for us.

  8. 2021 League of Legends World Championship ● ● Location: Shenzhen Start Date: the 6th of November With the Regional leagues for professional League of Legends teams starting, they should be preparing for new competitions and adventures this season. Because, as we all know, after the Regionals have ended, teams are expected to battle it out in the League of Legends World Championship. With teams from every part of the world competing, the desire to win becomes even bigger. This year, like every other year in the past World Championships, we will be seeing the best teams out of all the regions, including LCK, LCS, LEC, LPL, PCS, CBLOL, LCO, LCL, LJL, LLA, TCL, and VCS.

  9. Last year's WCS was concluded in China, Shanghai, and this is when the NA region felt the wrath of other regions. The NA teams didn't manage to get out of the group stage and qualify for the playoffs. So, they've decided to invest more in their teams by implementing roaster changes. Most of the better-known LCS teams have made some groundbreaking changes to their roasters, with TSM being at the top of this list. Their mid-lane fairytale with Bjergsen is now over as the famous mid laner now takes the coaching chair in the team. But TSM received another blow. Now in their bot lane duo, TSM DoubleLift decided to leave the professional scene and convert into a full-time content creator and streamer. After winning the 2020 LCS Spring Split, C9 didn't manage to qualify for the Worlds. So they decided to acquire one of the best names in the mid lane in PerkZ and a new coach in the former Fnatic coach Mithy.

  10. LEC responded to these signings with G2 pulling the first move by signing Fnatic's Rekkles. As well as Astralis' full rebranding of the spot previously held by Origne with a completely new roaster. The main surprise for this year's World Championship (besides the fact that it will be hosted in front of a live audience) is that they've decided to organize it in China for the second year in a row, this time in Shenzhen. Before, it was rotated between the continents, but this time they didn't do that.

  11. ESL One Cologne 2021 ● ● Location: Cologne Start Date: the 6th of July A new year, and a new approach is definitely what the ESL One crew decided to go with this season, as they’ve made a massive overhaul in branding this year. Namely, they got rid of the ESL branding and instead combined this event with the IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) branding, putting their forces together with Intel for a massive improvement to the ESL stage. The event will be taking place between the 6th and the 18th of July and teams will be fighting to get their hands into a prize pool of 1 million US dollars.

  12. The tournament will be played in three stages. The first stage, the play-in stage will be held between the 6th and the 7th of July, here the teams will be playing their opening matches in a best of one game, meaning they will only play one match, and the rest of the games will be played in a best of three. Only eight teams will manage to qualify for the main event. The Main Event will take place from the 8th of July until the 11th of July and here the teams will be split in two groups consisting of eight teams each. The teams will play their games in a best of 3 format, and the top three teams of each group will qualify for the next stage. Last but certainly not least, the Play Offs will take place from the 16th of July until the 18th of July and here all matches except the grand final will be played in a best of 3 format, and the final will be played in a best of 5 format.

  13. PGL Major Stockholm 2021 ● ● Location: Stockholm Start Date: the 23rd of October On the 23rd of October, the PGL will be hosting the next Major in Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS GO). This event will occur between the 23rd of October and the 7th of November 2021 and will be hosted in Stockholm. The organizers of this event hope that they can meet all safety and prevention measures, and if they don't manage to do so, the CSGO Major will be hosted online just like last year.

  14. The 16th CS GO Major and its main event will be hosted in the Ericsson Globe arena in front of a live audience (hopefully), and it will take place between the 4th and the 7th of November 2021. The teams that will manage to qualify for the main event will battle it out for a prize pool of amazing Two Million US Dollars. This prize pool is one of the biggest in gaming history, and certainly, it is the biggest prize pool in CS GO history. When PGL is involved in hosting CS GO events, you know major changes are coming. Just like the previous two times in Cluj – Napoca back in 2015 and the famous 2017 Major held in Krakow when they reinvented the online experience allowing the audience to watch the Majors in 1080p 60 fps. Now, they're planning to implement 4K 60 fps streaming for their audience because let's be honest, it's 2021, and 1440p is so 2019. PGL is also trying to implement other new features like AR elements, a new HUD, and many other improvements.

  15. Each and every one of these events is prepared to host a live audience, but none of the organizers know what the future of esports holds for them. Hopefully, a better time is coming, and we will be able to watch our favorite teams battling it out on the big stage. We hope we've covered all of your favorite events and games. If you don't see your favorite game, leave your thoughts on which event is the biggest one for it in the comments section below. Make sure to share the article with the friends you would like to visit these events with. Hopefully, we'll see you at these events this year!
