2. thriller • Thrillers are dark, engrossing, and suspenseful plot-driven stories. I want the veiwer to question the feeling of the actors as if they were in the situation to make the movie more interesting and giving different points of veiw throughout. Different things that builds a thriller: • An action-packed opening chapter. • A likeable protagonist. • Multiple points-of-view. • Cliffhangers. • Ticking clock. • Character growth.

3. Synopsis of the narrative • the mother is a serial killer and plans out every death immaculately that no one from the outside sees her as a suspect, however her children have seen things that are unusual. one day she leaves her computer open and has the locations of everyone who has been killed recently. her middle child discovers this and has a hard time facing reality. he now has to question if he ruins his family forever or tells the police. the mum eventually finds out about the Childs findings and has to question her situations as well. the whole film is about a family that seems normal from the outside however have many hidden secrets. do they save their family or to they risk breaking it up forever. everything seems normal the set is a typical bedroom, however as the scene goes on we slowly start to discover that she has a very unusual life.  • The story starts at their house, as the movie goes on we learn that the father died 6 years ago but all the children have been told was that he had died in a crash. The boy starts to research into his fathers death looking up as much as he can but can't seem to find the crash information anywhere. He now believes that it was the mother who killed the father, but why?  • He has to still pretend that he knows nothing about his mums strange secret life otherwise things could turn to the worst. Would the mother actually kill her own son? • He gets the nerve to tell the oldest daughter and she refuses to believe the truth even though all along she did see strange patterns in her mums routines.  • Do they tell the police or do they continue like nothing happened with the guilt on their backs for the rest of their life. 

4. Breakdown of Opening Sequence  • In the movie into we are taken intro in the first seen we are taken through the mothers routine as if we are experiencing it from her view. Therefore a lot of over the shoulder shots are used to get this feeling for the audience. The first strange thing we see is a knife being placed on in her bedside table draw when she reaches to get her medicine. Even though there is no blood on the knife it does make the audience question its placement. You could be thinking it's for protection, but against what? However as the movie into continues we are taken therefore into her morning routine. As she opens her phone the first thing that was left open was recent news of an unsolved murder on the news. She swipes of the tab as if nothing happened. Once again the audience is questioned and is asked is this normal, is she just reading the news? Up until now the atmosphere of the scene was calm as if she is going through her normal day, but then a loud low base non diegetic sound is added like a timer becoming more intense as she continues. As she leaves her bed the camera follows her feet giving us a sudden view of underneath the bed. In this shot you can just pitch out the figure of someone under the bed looking lifeless and collapsed on the floor.
