  1. It Is True That Some Shotguns Stand Out Above Others For Quality All hunters and shooters have their own preference when it comes to the rifle or shotgun they acquire for whatever discipline they enjoy. Of course there are choices among the different brands, and individual taste and preference will always play a big part when choosing the firearm you acquire. There are various factors to consider right from a brand’s reputation to affordability. Also, for some disciplines certain brands will always be preferred. Hunters may not choose the same brands as does a competition shooter, even though certain brands are popular across various disciplines. A good example is the Krieghoff that is fancied by both deer hunters and clay sports enthusiasts, for example. Krieghoff constantly keeps building on their proud history as a company that has introduced some fine firearms to the world’s hunters and competition shooters. Another brand that is often mentioned for the quality of their shotguns is Blaser. One of the brand’s well-known, outstanding examples of what a fine shotgun should be like, is the F3, which is widely admired and used by enthusiasts all over the world – also in the US where it is a popular shotgun used by different shooters. The F3 was introduced in 2004 and has been available in the US since 2008. It is a typical break-action over-and under shotgun favored by many shotgun enthusiasts. Over-under refers to the two barrels that are arranged the one on top of the other, and break-action refers to the barrels being ‘broken’ open so that cartridges can be loaded and unloaded. The F3 comes in several variants and are favored by different shotgun enthusiasts. The brand offers a number of different models so that shooters have a choice to find the one that suits their profile and discipline best. For example, their F3 Competition Blaser shotgun has a huge following among those that enjoy, for example Sporting Clays, Compak Sporting and Olympic Skeet. The different models all have their own profiles that may suit different shooters’ individual style and preference. Looking at the Competition shotgun, for example, it is noted that details such as gauge allow for options, such as, say, 12 ga, 20 ga, 28 ga and .410, for example. They are also designed for both the lefthanded and righthanded shooter. Triggers are adjustable, a stock balancer allows individual shooters to adjust weight distribution according to their personal needs and preference. There is also a barrel balancer so that barrel weight can be increased by up to 170 g , for example. The Competition F3 is one example of what this fine brand produces. There are more. The F3 Vantage and Vantage Luxus, and the Vantage Grand Lux are all great examples. It is said that the Vantage series of F3s offers the shooter faster target acquisition and less strain in the neck and on the shoulders because of a higher rib. These guns are engraved with, for example, ducks and pheasants, with partridges or fine scroll arabesques to ensure they remind of the discipline that shotguns are often used for, in addition to competition shooting and skeet, for example. The F3 is really popular with clay shooters. Followers of the F3 are impressed with how solid everything about this gun feels, even opening, and closing, of the gun is accompanied by a solid clunking sound, and nothing tinny as does happen with many other guns. What is good to know is that these F3s are available from reputable dealers, some of them online. Everyone has choices, but a good piece of advice would be to look around for a company mentioned for being knowledgeable and experienced with regard to shotgunning, and then to decide who to buy from.
