  1. 10 EASY FOOD HACKS

  2. Get the most juice out of a lemon by cutting lengthwise instead of widthwise.

  3. If you're trying to fish eggshell pieces out of a cracked egg in a bowl, wet your fingers first for very easy removal. …You can also use a shell to shovel it out.

  4. Keep your ice cream in a Ziploc bag in the freezer to prevent it from getting too hard and remain scoop-able.

  5. Freeze grapes, then drop in white wine to keep it chilled.

  6. Tired of buying fresh ginger just to see it go bad? Next time, peel and freeze it. Then grate it directly from the freezer. It will last for months!

  7. Want homemade iced coffee, but don’t want to wait for it to cool? Using a pour-over, put in double the amount of grounds you’d typically use and use only half as much hot water. Fill the cup with ice and pour your hot water over the grounds. The ice will slightly melt, cooling the double-strength coffee and diluting it to a perfectly strong and chilled brew.

  8. If you have leftover herbs, chop them up and freeze them in little ziploc bags. They’ll be fresh and ready to use the next time you need them!

  9. Craving something sweet but don’t want to bake? Microwave some chocolate chips and drizzle over some raspberries and strawberries. You’ll have chocolate covered fruit in less than 5 minutes.

  10. If you have less than a full glass of wine left at the end of a bottle, freeze the leftovers in ice cube trays. The next time you’re cooking with wine, drop a cube into your pot or sauté pan and you’re good to go.

  11. To cool a drink quickly, wrap it in a damp paper towel and put it in the freezer for a few minutes.
