  1. MATHS FORMULAS FOR CLASS 10 CHAPTER- SURFACE AREAS AND VOLUMES FORMULA Class 10 chapter- Surface Areas and Volumes Formula The Mathematics branch concerned with measuring lengths, areas and volume of plane figure and solid figures is called Mensuration. Area: The magnitude of a region occupied by a figure in a plane is called its area. Area is measured in m2. Volume: The magnitude of region occupied by solid in space is called its volume. Volume is measured in m3 (meter cube) or 1 (liters). Perimeter: Total length of the boundary of a plane figure is called its perimeter. The perimeter of the circle is called the circumference. Surface area: The area of the surface of the solid figure is called its surface area. Area and Perimeter of Plane Figure Name Nomenclature Perimeter Area Triangle a, b, c are the side h is altitude s = a+b+c / 2 a + b + c, 2s 1/2 × base × altitude 1/2 bh Rectangle a is length b is breadth 2(a + b) length × breadth ab
