  1. PMP Experience - Examples of PMP Application Process

  2. Work Experience for the PMP  To determine whether your project management job experience satisfies the exam criteria, use the checklist below:  It happened in a professional situation, not a volunteer or personal one.  Meets the requirements of the PMI's definition of a "project":  Defined start and finish  Clearly defined scope and resources  Undertaken to generate a one-of-a-kind product, service, or outcome  Project management functions were included in at least one of the five process groups

  3. The five process groups are as follows:  Initiating the Project (IN): Defining the project scope and securing stakeholder consent.  Project Planning (PL): Creating the project plan and designing the task breakdown structure (WBS).  Executing the Project (EX): Performing the work required to meet the project's stated objectives.  Project Controlling and Monitoring (MC): Tracking project progress, managing change and risk, and delivering status updates.  Closing the Project (CL): Completing all project activities, archiving documentation, getting deliverable acceptance, and notifying project conclusion.  The Project Management Institute (PMI) expects you to have completed at least one item from each of these five process groups in your application.

  4. How can I ensure that my PMP experience examples are correct?  Examples of questions to ask yourself regarding your PMP application experience. Examine your PMP experience descriptions to ensure they are valid by asking yourself the following questions:  Are all examples of experience under 500 words?  Did I clearly demonstrate that I completed duties in all five process groups?  Is it correct that I use project management terms and acronyms while avoiding industry-specific jargon?  Is my description clear about the project's goal, as well as my role, duties, and deliverables, as well as the end result?  Can I verify all PMP application experience examples with a director or another project manager who was extensively involved in the project?
