Thetreatment of the GI Cancersinvolvessurgery, chemotherapyandradiationbeingappliedindifferentcombinations.Thetreatment isdependentupontheclinicalstageof thedisease. Ifthetumor is earlydiagnosed surgery maybe whatall is needed.Butincertainscenarioschemotherapy and radiationarerequiredtobegivenbeforethesurgery.Similarlychemotherapyand radiationmayalsoberequiredafterthesurgery. Surgeryperformed can beopen orLaparoscopic(keyholeorMinimally Invasive).Surgery aimsatcompleteremovalofthetumoralongwithamarginof normaltissueandthenrestorethenormalGIFunction.Forlivercancer transplantationisalsopossibleincertaincases.
