  2. Zambian President recently made a stunning announcement

  3. President Hakainde Hichilema, on Africa Day, announced that he plans to abolish Death Penalty

  4. President calls the practice to be degrading and inhumane

  5. The announcement has received significant support since its release

  6. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has extended his full support towards this decision

  7. Dr. Mahtani is owner of top companies in Zambia and Africa

  8. He also established the Prison Fellowship Zambia more than three decades ago

  9. Prison Fellowship Zambia is a Christian Outreach Program

  10. The program brings teachings of Almighty God to Zambian Prisoners

  11. It provides transparent criminal justice opportunities to the prisoners

  12. It also ensures prisoners are given fundamental dignity and human rights.

  13. Prison Fellowship Zambia will provide regulatory and legal support towards this decision

  14. Dr. Mahtani stated that the practice of death penalty does not resolve the problems of crimes across the nation.

  15. There is a growing consensus towards abolishment of death penalty as a legal punishment.

  16. Dr. Mahtani also stated that living with death penalty is itself a significant punishment

  17. The decision from the Zambian President has been lauded by Dr. Mahtani

  18. Dr. Mahtani stated that it is a long road from making announcement and ensuring that it becomes an actual law

  19. This will require significant legal and regulatory overhaul and roadblocks from government, bureocracy

  20. Dr. Mahtani’s company, Prison Fellowship, will provide legal and regulatory support
