  1. Six Ways the Holistic Approach Is a More Effective Type of Alcohol and Drug Rehab It can be hard enough to urge someone abusing alcohol or drugs to enter a rehabilitation program. If it’s not the right kind of program and they fail at getting sober, this can decrease their likelihood of ever trying rehab again.

  2. Holistic Rehab Is a Non-12-Step Program The typical 12-step program is a regularly used means of getting a patient to open up about their difficulties with alcohol or drugs, Some of the steps, which come directly from Alcoholics Anonymous, include claiming to have no power over one’s behavior, giving in to a higher power, tracking all the bad deeds committed during addiction for reproach, and apologizing to those around the addict.

  3. 2. The Holistic Approach Can Be Personalized we believe so strongly in the holistic approach. It can be personalized to each patient’s unique needs. For instance, most patients stay at our inpatient program for 90 days, but that’s just an average. That’s why we believe so strongly in the holistic approach. It can be personalized to each patient’s unique needs. For instance, most patients stay at our inpatient program for 90 days, but that’s just an average.

  4. 3. There’s a Spiritual Element Not Found in Other Types of Rehab The spirit can be broken down after months or even years of abusing alcohol and drugs. Many programs ignore the spirit though, believing if they can just determine the cause of the addiction, then it can be treated. That’s not how we do it at Elevate Addiction Services. With exercise programs, massage therapy, music and art therapy, healthy meal plans, and mindfulness, the spirit is refreshed and ready to make major changes, such as sobriety.

  5. 4. The Emotional/Mental Side Is Nourished As Well It is important to get to the root cause of addiction, but this can only occur once the spirit and body are nourished. Our staff will rely on several modalities to get the patient feeling ready to open up about their past and reform their future.

  6. 5. There’s a Physical Component Physical fitness can help patients feel better about themselves and ease withdrawal symptoms. Whether it’s group activities like volleyball and basketball, strength-building exercises like weightlifting, or spending time outside among the beautiful mountains and lakes of the Bay Area, we’re big proponents of physical activity.

  7. There’s Less Reliance on Addictive Medications Speaking of withdrawal, many rehab facilities will administer addictive medications to lessen the painful and mood-altering symptoms of withdrawing.
