  1. Web Accessibility Best Practices: Designing for All Users

  2. Web Accessibility is defined as the process of making a website accessible by removing the barriers to accessibility. This is done to ensure that people of all abilities can easily access the information on your website. It is important to make your website accessible as it is a mandatory requirement to comply with accessibility norms. In order to make your business grow and comply with accessibility standards, you can hire a digital accessibility service provider.

  3. Legal Requirements for Web Accessibility Several laws and regulations state the steps to ensure accessibility, including ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act), and Section 508. Complying with these guidelines is mandatory to avoid legal lawsuits and fines, maintain brand reputation, commit towards inclusivity, and more.

  4. Understanding Disabilities There are several types of Disabilities; the ones which are considered under accessibility guidelines include: • Vision Impairments • Hearing Impairment • Cognitive Impairments • Mobility impairments The above-mentioned disabilities affect the users to access the web if it is not accessible. For instance, individuals with vision impairment may not be able to access websites if your website does not support assistive technology like screen readers. Or people with hearing impairments may not be able to access video content without transcriptions and captions.

  5. Designing for Accessibility Making the internet an inclusive space for everyone with disabilities is important; this is where digital accessibility services providers come in. They help you to make your website inclusive by removing barriers to accessibility. Some of the key considerations to make the website accessible include: • Alternative Text • Captioning and transcriptions • Keyboard navigation • Proper font style and size • Proper Contrast
