  1. RETHINK, RESHAPE AND AWAKE THE COMMUNITY My ESC experience in Cairo, Egypt JUSTYNA DANIŁO

  2. How it all started? In my life I was very lucky to have a lot of different opportunities to travel and I felt like it was time for me to give back what I received. ISo, I started looking for a volunteering project which could help me do that and that's how I found Have a Dream. In January 2022 I was already on the plane!

  3. Have a Dream is a social enterprise, founded in 2014 by a group of young Egyptians who, inspired by their own travel experiences, decided to create an organization that offers Egyptian youth the opportunity to develop through travel, to get out of their comfort zon, to meet other cultures and societies. My service consisted of ongoing support for Have a Dream in their everyday tasks, depending on what were the current needs. Have a Dream

  5. My tasks: acquiring new partnerships In the first month of my ESC, my tasks were mainly related to Have a Dream’s efforts to acquire new partnerships with organisations all around the world. My responsibilities included: research of prospective partners, initiating contact, explaining the scope of work of Have a Dream and the possibilities for the cooperation, scheduling and meetings with the prospective partners, assistance in developing projects. attending online

  6. My tasks: Learning hour The “learning our” was a session carried out weekly by each team member of a team on a topic chosen by the presenter. My learning hour was about Poland. I talked about Polish history, language, cuisine, its fauna and flora and I showed pictures and videos of the biggest Polish cities.

  7. My tasks: recruitment One of my main responsibilities was carrying out the recruitment processes for all the programs organised by the hosting organisation. My job was to: review and grade the applications, invite, schedule and conduct interviews with selected candidates, send out feedback and results emails, put together a waiting list, follow-up with the accepted candidates to ensure their participation in the project.

My tasks: ater recruitment After responsibility would be to: conducing a recruitment process, my create statistics from the recruitment, putting together a “Ready List” - a list of the applicants who performed very well on their interviews but were rejected due to the limited number of spots available, prepare and conduct the pre-departure training for the selected candidates.

My tasks: helping out the marketing team creating infopacks on the programs offered by Have a Dream using Canva as my tool, coordination of the development of the new website: maintaining contact with the graphic providing her with all the necessary information and materials (pictures, videos). designer and

  10. My tasks: Travel Talk I was one of the speakers at an event organised by Have a Dream called “Travel Talk”. Travel Talk is an event on which the speakers speak about their travelling experience. In my Travel Talk I focused on talking about travelling solo as a girl and I briefly talked about my ESC experience.

  11. My tasks: other responsibilities I would also support the organisation’s team members in small tasks, such as: research on a specific program held by a different organisation, research of contact information for specific organisations, research on different travel-related services.
