  13. Take a field trip to the local fire station If possible, make this a walking field trip Make “Fire Truck Snacks” as a thank you Trip to the Fire Station

  15. Take a trip to the local police station Materials Permission Slips Parent Volunteer(s) to help supervise Transportation Trip to the Police Station

  16. Take a trip to the local library. Have the Librarian talk about their job Show the students around the library Materials: Permission Slips Parent Volunteer(s) to help supervise Transportation Trip to Local Library

  17. Have the Principal come in for a student led “interview” Materials: Student generated questions Schedule the interview with the principal Principal Interview

  18. Invite a school bus driver to come to the school and talk with the students Discuss bus safety Practice a bus evacuation Show the students around the bus (i.e.: the area around the driver seat) Visit from the Bus Driver

  19. Have a local baker come in a speak with the class Make cookies together Materials: Schedule a visit Cookie supplies Student generated questions Visit from a Baker

  20. Invite several servicemen/women from different branches to come in and speak with the class. Try to find relatives of your students Materials: Schedule a visit Student generated questions Visit from Serviceman/woman
