  2. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum On November 4, 2008, Stafford County citizens will be asked to consider a local bond referendum question to allow the County Government to use general obligation bond financing to make transportation improvements in Stafford.

  3. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum The Question on the Ballot Shall Stafford County, Virginia contract a debt and issue its general obligation bonds in the maximum amount of Seventy Million Dollars ($70,000,000) for the purpose of paying the costs, in whole or in part, of t he following transportation improvement projects: (1) Warrenton Road (Route 17); (2) Garrisonville Road (Route 610); (3) Ferry Road (Route 606); (4) Courthouse Road (Route 630); (5) Truslow Road (Route 652); (6) Telegraph Road (Route 637); (7) Courthouse Road (Route 630) Railroad Bridge; (8) Pedestrian improvements; (9) Kellogg Mill Road (Route 651); and (10) Youth Driver Task Force “Hot Spot” Traffic Safety Improvements: (a) Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. Route 1); (b) Brooke Road (Route 608); (c) Poplar Road (Route 616); (d) Mountain View Road (Route 627); and (e) Rock Hill Church Road (Route 644)? ( ) YES ( ) NO

  4. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 1 – Jefferson Davis Highway Construct a southbound left turn lane from Route 1 onto Potomac Creek Drive. Project 2 – Brooke Road (near Eskimo Hill Rd.) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance.

  5. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 3 – Brooke Road (near Raven Road) Reconstruct this section of the road to improve sight distance and safety. Project 4 – Poplar Road (near Kellogg Mill Road) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance.

  6. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 5 – Poplar Road (near Mountain View Rd.) Realign the curve on this section of roadway to improve sight distance and safety. Project 6 – Mountain View Road (near Centreport Parkway) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance.

  7. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 7 – Mountain View Road (near Rose Hill Farm Drive and Joshua Road) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance. Project 8 – Mountain View Road (near Kellogg Mill Road) Reconstruct this intersection to improve the intersection of the roads.

  8. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 9– Rock Hill Church Road (near Crown Manor Drive and Dunbar Drive) Reconstruct this intersection to improve the intersection of the roads. Project 10 – Warrenton Road (near McClane Drive and Village Parkway) Widen to 6 and 8 lanes.

  9. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 11 – Garrisonville Road (near Onville Road and Eustace Drive) Widen to 6 lanes. Project 12 – Ferry Road (near Kings Highway and Colebrook Road) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance.

  10. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 13 – Courthouse Road (near Cedar Lane and Ramoth Church Road) Widen to 4 lanes. Project 14 – Courthouse Road (near near Ramoth Church Road and Shelton Shop Road) Perform preliminary engineering and right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation only for this roadway.

  11. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 15 – Courthouse Road (near Hamn Lane and CSX Railroad) Replace a substandard bridge that was built in 1917 over the CSX Railroad. Project 16 – Telegraph Road (near Jefferson Davis Highway) Improve curves, hills and valleys at various spots in the roadway.

  12. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 17 – Kellogg Mill Road (near Ramoth Church Road) Relocate sections of Kellogg Mill Road to better connect with future Woodcutter Road. Project 18 – Truslow Road (near Cambridge Street and the I-95 Bridge) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance.

  13. 2008 Transportation Bond Referendum Proposed Transportation Projects Project 19 – Truslow Road (near Berea Church Road and Plantation Drive) Rebuild the road to current Virginia Department of Transportation standards, which includes the width of travel lanes, roadway shoulders, and improving sight distance. Project 20 – Pedestrian Improvements Improvements to be determined.
