  1. MULTI-FAMILY URBAN HOUSING: Fikes successfully suppressed rat infestations in multi- family housing complexes located in a dense urban area of Seattle.

  2. Fikes Case Study OVERVIEW AN INFESTATION ISSUE Multi-family housing units are vulnerable to rodent infestations abundance of resources within a single confined building. Water, food waste, as well as ample shelter from predators and for breeding, are easily available day and night. When implementing tools for rodent control in multi-family housing units, it is important to consider these factors. due to the EARLY EFFORTS PROVE INEFFECTIVE A multi-family housing complex, located in an urban area of Seattle was constantly responding to recurring rodent infestations. This complex had a long history of traditional rodent control which only controlled the rodents for short-term periods. Reproduction of the surviving rats allowed the population to recover. 2.

  3. Fikes Case Study FIKES SOLUTION Prior to Fikes Contrapest installation, a detailed site assessment was conducted. It was suspected that rats frequented interior trash compactor rooms, water sources within subsurface basements, exterior dumpsters, and communal areas. To verify rat foraging areas, chew cards made of corrugated plastic and peanut butter filling were placed in these areas of high rat activity for 48 hours. Chew cards that were gnawed indicated that rats were comfortable stopping long enough to investigate, making that area a suitable baiting location. Fikes bait stations were placed at these identified foraging locations. Consumption occurred quickly after installation. REAL RESULTS WITH FIKES After deploying our Contrapest solution, the PM team saw a reduction in rat activity in as little as one month. Implementing Fikes Contrapest into the current IPM program allowed the PM to focus their efforts on prevention rather than constantly battling the infestation. Optimizing the placement of bait stations helped target problem areas and delivered the product to a substantial number of rats, which successfully reduced the infestation. 3.

  4. Fikes Case Study Fikes Contrapest is a proven solution that targets the reproductive capabilities of rats. By reducing reproduction, Contrapest can be the anchor to your Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and magnify the success of your IPM methodologies. For customers looking to reduce or eliminate their use of lethal methodologies, ContraPest also offers you a stand-alone non- lethal solution to bring rat populations down and keep them down.
