Why is it important to maintain the Industrial Cooling Towers?

The main mechanism which rejects the heat that is generated from various industrial processes is the industrial cooling towers. This system is quite essential for most of the businesses to carry on their operations efficiently. Additionally, a cooling tower that is well managed can enhance operational efficiency and reduce the costs. In order to save a lot of operating expenses, it is essential to know the various cooling towers, how they must be cleaned and how they need to be maintained.

  1. Cooling towers - Types In terms of cooling towers, there are two main types - the natural draft and the mechanical draft. The Natural draft towers make use of natural action of air to alleviate the flow. On the contrary, mechanical draft towers create airflow by using fans. Natural draft towers are quite large and cheap to function, whereas mechanical draft towers are quite small but expensive. The towers have a lot of moving parts, and this means that are many more areas prone to breakdown. Cooling towers - Cleaning Irrespective of which tower is being used by the industry, it is essential to keep the tower clean. Inside the tower, fill media is kept within the tower to enhance the surface area contact that is in between air and water which initiates the cooling process. The two different fill media which are filled are known as film and splash. In the film, media spreads out the water on a very thin film, whereas splash media breaks down the water into tiny droplets which helps it to mix in the air. Both processes are quite dependent on clean water. Unfortunately, what cannot be sidelined is calcium buildup. This issue will require a check on the fill media regularly to make sure there is no obstruction. Maintenance is necessary to keep the cooling towers in great operating condition.

  2. Cooling towers - Maintenance Maintaining the cooling towers helps you save money in terms of energy use and operations. For instance, if your tower is not clean, it will take a long time to achieve the goals. This problem increases the stress on chillers and exchangers as the system has to operate at very high condensing pressures to take care of the load. This increases the maintenance cost and reduces the tower's life. FlowMatrix is an operating company that is 100% Australian owned which specialises in the repair, inspection, maintenance, along with the installation of the cooling towers for both commercials as well as industrial premises all through Australia. Our services extend to about 200+ commercial and industrial cooling towers all through Victoria, South Australia, NSW, Tasmania, and ACT. We have a team of experienced cooling tower specialists whose commitment has made us the leader and preferred service provider in this industry. We ensure the work is compliant with the regulations of the Australian Health Department as well as OH & S inclusive of confined space entry, working at heights and use of EWP.
