  2. What is an ankle ligament injury? • Ankle ligament injuries are a common injury, and they can cause a great deal of pain. Fortunately, there are some ways to help relieve the pain and improve your ankle’s function. So if you’ve experienced an ankle ligament injury, read on to learn about how to heal it. • An ankle ligament injury is a type of injury that occurs when the ankle joint becomes damaged. This can happen when the person falls, or when they get a blow to the ankle that causes damage. • The ankle ligament helps hold your ankle together and helps it move. If it’s injured, it can be difficult to move your ankle and get it up on an exam table.

In order to heal an ankle ligament injury, you will need: - healskin: This is a thin film that is put on top of the injured area in order to help reduce swelling and protect the area from further damage. -an antibiotic ointment: This will help to kill any infection that may have arisen in the area. - Rest: The most important thing you can do for your ankle is rest. You should not do any strenuous activities for at least six hours after the injury has healed. This will allow your body time to heal properly and REST! - Physical Therapy: A physical therapist will help you rehab your ankle and improve its function. They will also teach you how to exercises that will help improve your ankles’ movement.

This can be caused by a number of things, such as a fall, an accident, or an on-the-job injury. • When the ankle ligament is injured, it can become difficult to move the joint. This can cause significant pain and inflammation. • Additionally, the ankle ligament may also be injured in an attempt to keep the ankle in line with the foot.

What can be done to help relieve the pain? • Some common methods of helping to relieve the pain of an ankle ligament injury include: • -Ice: This is a great way to reduce swelling and inflammation. Ice can help to cool the area and reduce the amount of swelling. • -Medications: There are many medications that can be used to help with relief from ankle ligament injuries. Some medications, such as ibuprofen and aspirin, can help reduce inflammation and pain. Ibuprofen is especially helpful because it’s a analgesic (a pain reliever). • -Therapy: Therapy can be very helpful in reducing the amount of pain experienced after an ankle ligament injury. The therapist can help you improve your movement, strength, and balance. • -Surgery: Surgery may be necessary if the ankle ligament has been damaged too severely. Surgery may also be necessary if there is evidence that the ankle ligament has been ruptured (meaning it has been cut or torn).
