Gable vents are the vents located in that triangular portion of the roof that starts at the ceiling directly under the attic space and ends where the roof sections meet at the top. A gable vent can be triangle, round, square, or an octagon. They consist of a frame with louvers attached in a slanted and overlapping fashion to prevent wind-driven rain from entering the attic space. Gable vent covers are designed to ventilate the attic space while enhancing the facade of the home or building and often match the theme set forth by the windows and doors.
