  1. What causes child malnutrition and how to help?

  2. DONATE ONLINE Poor brain development, delayed motor skills, slow or stunted growth and a weak immune system are just some of the effects of hunger and malnutrition in India. To end this, you can donate online and save malnourished children in India. Join us in our childhood rescue programme. For many children and families in India, hunger is an everyday reality. They go to bed hungry, wake up hungry and spend the day in hunger. Improper intake of food over a period leads to malnutrition resulting in various ailments.

  3. Malnutrition mars the health of a child. It’s time to save malnourished children because it’s effects are numerous and last a lifetime. World Vision India believes in empowering families to help them provide better for their children. Our ‘childhood rescue’ initiatives can save malnourished children. Donate online now. The vulnerable families with malnourished children are not able to feed their children properly due to poverty and the lack of awareness on nutrition. Even though, they know about nutritious food intake, they are unable to provide because of poverty. Donate online and contribute to Childhood rescue, as it helps vulnerable families provide proper nutrition for their children. Save malnourished children in India. Asha Bharti, homemaker and mother of three young children, Agradeep (6 years), Akansha (5 years) and Sanjana (3 years), lives in one of the communities of Khagaria, Bihar, with her husband Sandeep, who is a daily wage labourer by profession. Last year, World Vision India helped her set up her own nutri garden in front of her house.

  4. Little did she know that her garden would come in handy in a time of pandemic outbreak and lockdown. With the support from our generous donors and sponsors, Asha’s children did not bear the brunt of the lockdown. Donate online to support families like them, through the childhood rescue initiative. Sanjana, Asha’s youngest daughter, playing around the garden, pulls out a sponge gourd and asks Asha, “Cook me this please!” Asha is proud of her garden and is motivated to grow more vegetables to feed her children. Vegetables added to the daily diet give Asha’s children energy, vitamins, anti-oxidants, fibre and the water content to enable them to live healthy lives. They help protect the children against diseases that may arise later in their lives like heart disease, stroke and some cancers. A healthy diet means eating lots of vegetables in addition to a wide variety of foods from the other main food groups.

  5. Asha received a very timely support. Donate online and save malnourished children by giving them timely support. Join us in our childhood rescue initiative. When there is no work and the markets are closed, Asha is extremely grateful she has her own nutri garden and says, “During this difficult COVID-19 lockdown period, the garden helped me feed my family and keep us nourished.” Asha is also part of monthly meetings for mothers, where she learns about healthy cooking and hygiene. During this COVID-19 lockdown period, Nutri Gardens have brought happiness to the homes and smiles on the faces of children with malnutrition in India. *Nutri garden / kitchen garden programme is a provision provided by World Vision India to identify and save malnourished children in families. The identified families are supported with seeds and saplings.

  6. The kitchen garden is a small garden setup just behind or in front of the residence of the beneficiary. The childhood rescue programmes greatly improves the health of children. Through your support, many children will be set free from malnutrition. Donate online and give a healthy life to children. Join us. Together for children. For change. For life.
