  2. Bali FREE MASSAGE While you’re relaxing on the beach, you are offered a massage for free. At the end of your treatment you will find out it’s not free.

  3. India EAR CLEANING A man comes claiming that you have dirt in your ears and tries to shove a stick in your ear. You could pay $5 if you let them clean your ears on the spot.

  4. Thailand WATER BIKES You rent a jet ski, and then the owner claims it is damaged and you need to pay $500 or similar. The longer you argue, the more people gather round to support the owner.

  5. Eastern Europe SMART WRISTBAND You’ll be offered a brand new smart bracelet that will watch your kids. Costing not that much, these are ordinary bracelets with no security options.

  6. Bali BOAT TICKETS If you’d like to visit any island, you’d need to buy boat tickets in the harbour. The scammers will offer you tickets from the best boat company, but then trick you and put you in the worst one, indeed.

  7. Eastern Europe FISHING Fishing trip on a fantastic boat – a very common scam. You will end up paying for it but you’ll find no boat and nobody to provide what you have paid for.

  8. Venice BUILDING SAND CASTLES The local authorities in Venice consider sand castles as an obstacle. So make sure it is no higher than 20 cm or you risk being fined 250 Euro.

  9. Majorka USING SHOWER If you wash fruit, picnic dishes or anything else in the beach shower be ready to pay a huge fine.

  10. Italy RESERVING SPOT IN THE SUN On the payed beaches, it’s not permitted to leave your towel or umbrella on the beach to reserve your place. Otherwise you must pay for the beds and umbrellas.

  11. France WALKING AROUND At la Grande Motte beach, it is against the local by-laws to walk around in swimwear outside the beach. You have to either pay the fine or get dressed.
