  1. What is the use of Paper core? What are its advantages? Paper tubes are made of paper or paperboard sheet layers that are wound together to form hollow, strong and cylindrical shapes. These layers are bonded together or laminated with the use of adhesives. The thickness of the wall of the tube depends on the number of layers wrapped during the manufacturing. The other name for paper tubes is Paper core, paperboard tubes, fibre drums, paper cans, fibre tubes, wound tubes, paper tubing, composite cans, cardboard tubes and cardboard tubes. USE OF PAPER TUBES Paper tubes are consumed to meet several functions that include: 1) Containing and packaging

  2. Paper tubes are widely used for containing and packing. Shipping tubes are mostly used to package large documents with folding, for instance, maps, posters, prints of artwork, original paintings, blueprints or engineering drawings etc. Powder tubes are manufactured and designed to pack granulated material and dry goods. They have rotary shakers to ease dispensing, for instance, pepper shakers or disposable salt. 2) Forming and construction Paper tubes are widely used in construction. Large diameter spiral wound paper tubes are used to form concrete pilings. The concrete is poured into the tube that contains rebar and remesh. Small diameter paper tubes have applications in creating voids or channels within cast concrete for running communication cables, electrical wiring and plumbing. 3) Insulating and Dampening Paper tubes dampen the vibration because of the fibrous structure of the paperboard. They have better thermal insulating properties as compared to metal tubing. Kraft peppers can be used to produce electrically insulating paper tubes. Engineered paper and saturation with engineered filled resins offer thermal conductivity. 4) Protecting and Masking Paper core manufacturers produce paper cores to protect spindles, polished shafts, end mil teeth, plug gages, drill bits and various mechanical components. A protect core on a bolt or spindle prevents impact with other metal components from distorting the threads. Paper core masks are slid over

  3. threads to enable the selective application of adhesives without coating the masked area. 5) Spacing and Supporting They act as display poles to support signs in exhibits and stores. Paper core spacers are used to prevent movement and protect the products from any kind of damage. For example, paper tube spacers are used to properly position and protect the automotive wheel hubs during the shipment. They also help in reinforcing the corner posts and support within some packages. 6) Winding / Carrying Paper core suppliers use paper cones and paper spools to apply in the winding, dispensing and carrying of wires, foils, yarn, rope, tubing and other forms of roll stock. The paper spool consists of the paper core with two chipboard paper flanges. Paper tubes are also used in the agricultural industry to roll up sod. ADVANATGES AND DISADVANATGES OF PAPER TUBES ADVANTAGES OF PAPER TUBES The several advantages of paper tubes and cores are as follows: 1) low cost: Glass, metal and plastic are expensive whereas paper is cheaper in nature. 2) Lightweight: It has lightweight material with lower density compared to other packaging materials.

  4. 3) Impact and tough resistance: Glass and plastic are not tough and impact resistant whereas paper tubes are tough as well as impact resistant. They are also used to protect wine and other bottles from impacts. 4) Easy to print - Graphics and labellings can be easily done on paper whereas it is difficult on glass, plastic and metals. They require special coatings, treatments and paper labels. 5) Light Blocking – Paper tube containers are non-transparent or opaque. It blocks the sunlight to protect light-sensitive foods, wines, beverages, drugs and other light-sensitive goods. 6) Eco-friendly & sustainability - Paper tube manufacturers use 100% recycled paper products that can be recycled. 7) Evolving and Proven technology - Various well-established manufacturing processes and standards and practices are used to control paper tubes and core manufacturing technologies. The paper and converting industries are constantly evolving, creating new technologies and using effective methods to minimise energy consumption and waste. The increased use of paper cores and tubes is exceptionally promising. The broad range of capabilities that modern paper tube and core manufacturers can offer to their customers as well as benefits to the environment. Resources Link:- shorturl.at/iABMR
