  1. 5 MORE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT B2B MARKETING IN ASIA In one of his articles in 2017, Michael King investigated the most significant cultural challenges facing senior marketers; continue prevailing in their trade in Asia. In his article, he interviewed Allan Tan, Managing Partner at Finn Partners; Jacob Stempniewicz, VP marketing at Adnovar – Cassie Cheng who is Marketing & Communications Director at Mobvista; and Director Giles Publications, Freya Simpson Giles. 1.Some cultures avoid expressing their opinion openly Asian people are famous for their conservative views, and giving direct feedback is considered as rude unless you do know them very well already. A mentoring and collaborative approach to working relationships does wonders.. 2.Marketers in Thailand are afraid of confrontations and conflicts The local people in Thailand generally, avoid conflict and confrontation at all costs, which can lead to issues becoming grave. They either going unnoticed or unresolved for long periods of time and sometimes, nobody wants to escalate them. Your firm's email marketing efforts might be generating Although your firm might be generating little ROI despite a fair number of figures, and the person responsible, knows about the exact flaw in analytics tool which explains this error but is afraid to mention this due to the fear of not being held accountable. 3.Asia has low proficiency in English in Asia, so learning the local language is always safer to tap target markets It is better not to assume Asia as a homogeneous region and even all countries are neither same nor similar. Japan and Pakistan are more different from each other than any two European countries. Looking at the diversity of Asia, and the way they take pride in their national languages, to reach it – being bilingual can be an added advantage. https://www.exporthub.hk/

  2. 4.PR is more important than content marketing in China In some Asian countries like China, PR is given more importance over content marketing, and hence, the Chinese companies don't have a very positive outlook for the practical implications of content marketing and internal knowledge-sharing. Furthermore, they also don't think data and whitepapers are as crucial because Chinese tend to be more secretive about their activities and transparency is a big issue. Ideally, PR in China is widely applicable for short-term content marketing, and this may be because it's easier to pitch the media – as compared to Western countries. Also, Asian people prefer to read stories over data and facts. 5.Face-to-face communication and relationships are more valued rather than digital communication Asian cultures value relationships more than hard facts. Building business relationships take more time and a personal touch, but they tend to be more resilient. As compared to the Western countries, where the focus of the clients is more on tangible ROI, technology, and making deals via phones and emails – With Asians, it is more in-depth; long-term and the focus is more on building a healthy relationship first, before things can move forward and leads get nurtured. Face-to-face meetings, sharing business cards, healthy business discussions are a highly professional trend and a typical Asian tradition to sign top-priority business deals. https://www.exporthub.hk/
