In the Loop – A Marvelous Political Satire & a Hilarious Comedy About the Iraq War The British film ‘In the Loop’ by Armando Ianucci is a comedy and political satire that authentically depicts the incompetence and insanity among powerful political players in Washington and London. The funniest political satire since the 1997 movie Wag the Dog, the timing of the film‘s release in 2009 seemed to be just right, albeit painful. The brilliant movie with loads of fun is a comedy about the then British government’s culture of chaos, portrayed by characters first aired in ‘The Thick of It,’ a TV show. The film is a satirical show and cynical nightmare on the subject of the big blunder during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq by the allied troops under the leadership of Washington. As the plot unfolds, the audience gets a clear view of the backstairs political world of incompetence, anxiety, humiliation, and bullying.
