BigBasket, located in Bengaluru, is said to have secured an additional $200 million from Tata Digital and other investors, valuing the company at $3.2 billion. The new funding comes after BigBasket raised INR 1,000 crore from its parent 몭rm. With the $200 Mn investment made at the time of purchase included, this marks Tata Digital’s fourth investment in BigBasket. Over the previous 1.5 years, the Tata Sons company has contributed more than $550 Mn to BigBasket. According to a report, Bigbasket would reportedly be valued at $3–3.5 billion post-money following the investment round. In a secondary share sale in March of this year, the 몭rm was valued at $2.7 billion. With a target of around Rs 320 crore by December of next year, BB Now is recording gross sales of roughly Rs 130 crore every month. Right now, dark shops may be found in more than 24 cities. By launching its rapid-commerce vertical, BBNow, in December 2021, the 몭rm, which has been expanding, will be in direct rivalry with other well- funded companies like Instamart by Swiggy, Zomato’s grocery delivery service through Blinkit, and quick commerce operator, Zepto.
