MediBuddy and DocsApp’s successful merger resulted in the combined company receiving $165 million since its announcement in June 2020.    The company’s size hasn’t kept up with the spiralling losses, which increased 2.4X and exceeded Rs 250 crore in FY22, despite the sizable 몭nancing round.   The operational income for MediBuddy jumped by 58.5% to Rs 234 crore in FY22 from Rs 147.6 crore in the prior 몭scal year (FY21), according to the company’s annual 몭nancial records 몭led with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).   The brand name MediBuddy is shared by both MediBuddy and DocsApp. It is a digital healthcare platform that provides medicine delivery, lab testing, surgery, insurance, and in-person and online doctor consultations.    The company’s revenue from interest on deposits and investment gains decreased by 45% to Rs 3.28 crore in FY22, bringing total revenue to Rs 237 crore.    Moving on to costs, the Chennai-based company’s largest cost area was money spent on purchasing materials; it accounted for 40.2% of total costs, which rose 75.3% to Rs 195.22 crore in FY22.   In FY22, the expenditure on advertising and promotion surged 6.8X to Rs 119.5 crore from Rs 17.5 crore in the prior 몭scal year (FY21).    Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood star, was also chosen by MediBuddy as its brand ambassador at the conclusion of the previous 몭scal year.   MediBuddy’s employee bene몭t costs were the same in both years at Rs 58 crore, while the cost of legal and professional fees increased 2X to Rs 49.62 crore in FY22.    The cost of the merger procedure appears to be the cause of the rise in legal and professional fees.   Numerous businesses, including Lybrate, Practo, mFine, 1mg, and DoctorInsta, compete with MediBuddy.    1mg, which is supported by Tata Digital, increased its size by 2X to Rs 627 crore in FY22.
