  1. JackalynRainosek Jackalyn, PHD: How To Be An Effective Manager

  2. JackalynRainosek, PHD has been working with business professionals for more than four decades and is always keen to help the next generation of entrepreneurs develop the skills that they need in order to be effective in their roles. The following pointers should help you to improve as you strive to get the best out of your team. • Be Available • Offer Recognition • Be A Mentor

  3. Be Available If your team members feel that you make yourself unavailable, they may end up stewing on grievances that could have been resolved if they had an opportunity to air them. Understand that part of your role is to build a connection with each of your team members and you can only do this by making it clear that you are available for them to raise issues and ideas with on a regular basis.

  4. Offer Recognition Never make the mistake of thinking that a team member’s salary is all of the recognition they need for a job well done. Instead, be sure to offer a pat on the back to anybody who works hard or is able to accomplish a difficult task. A simple compliment or a small demonstration of gratitude will go a lot further than just barking out orders and failing to acknowledge when they are followed.

  5. Be A Mentor Jackalyn Rainosek, PHD believes that your team should be able to look to you for guidance when needed, so always offer advice to help steer them in the right direction. This is where the benefit of your experience will often come in handy.
