Mandatory Rules By Government Of India For Exporting Of Rice Products The Government of India established the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in 1985 for imposing some rules and regulations on exports of agricultural commodities like rice, wheat, and pulses, etc. The main objective of APEDA is to expand of Indian export market worldwide. Functions of APEDA in Rice Industry Several functions are done by the organization in the agricultural commodities market which are: Upgrade and expansion of agricultural commodities products. Providing solutions to all the export-related products. Standards set for the quality of the products Additional functions that are set by the organization are Training related to rice products. Product manufacturing. Financial assistance. Rules by Govt. of India for Rice Exporters The Government of India set a rule for Basmati Rice exporter. The rule is the registration process is mandatory for all rice exporters in APEDA. Registration-Cum-Allocation certificate is issued for Basmati Rice Supplier for shipment of rice and helps to Indian custom for clearance of the products.   2. Regulation for European Union Indian Government agency issued a “certification of inspection” for Indian rice exporters. After inspection, it can be obtained the clearance report to ship the basmati and non- basmati varieties to the countries of the European Union. The European Commission had brought down Basmati Rice the Maximum Residue Limit Level for a fungicide used by the Indian farmers. The quality and safety of the rice products exported from India are certified by the Export Inspection Council (EIC) in India which can ensure the quality and safety of the products. It also ensures the sound development of the export trade of India through quality control and inspection. Prospects of New Policy in India There is a good scope of India to take advantage of the new policies. The policies have been changed because of the demand for rice from the international market. The following export policies of India may be taken into account to sustain the export in the rice market worldwide. Observation of the quality of the seeds and the availability of the seeds to farmers in subsidized rates. With the help of technological development, the production will be more and cost-effective that will further compete in the international market. The survey may be conducted to identify the favorable zones for the cultivation of the export quality of rice. Keeping in view, the quality required for the international market, the production of the rice with quality should be maintained carefully. High-Yielding-Rice is developed for the Basmati Rice and Non-Basmati Rice to enable the exporters to compete in the world market. Production, procurement, and processing should be maintained on streamline for exporting quality of rice to the international market. The easy export policy should be adopted for the sea-export zones in India. Improvement of infrastructure facilities should be maintained. Adopting a friendly trade policy can improve the export quality of rice in India.
