MCC mentor coaching for PCC coaches to help them become an ICF Level 3 coach Though coaching is available through various organizations, coaching provided by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) is considered the gold standard due to its focus on stringent standards, quality of education and evaluations, and code of ethics. ICF provides three credentialing levels, viz, ACC (Associate Certified Coach), PCC (Professional Certified Coach), and MCC (Master Certified Coach). ICF Level 3 MCC is the highest credentialing level offered by ICF. To apply for MCC, you must be a PCC with 200+ hours of coaching education and 2500+ hours of coaching experience. You must have 10 hours of MCC mentor coaching, and successfully pass a performance evaluation and exam by ICF. ICF offers two credentialing paths for MCC. These are: Level 3 Path: The program is open to PCC coaches who have built into their program the education hours and mentor coaching required to earn an ICF MCC credential. Portfolio Path: For non-accredited education, the program curriculum will need to be submitted with robust documentation to ensure the education received meets ICF standards. The MCC mentor coaching hours are divided into 39 hours’ synchronous hours which are delivered virtually via Zoom, and 36 asynchronous hours. 39 synchronous hours of MCC mentor coaching are delivered virtually via Zoom in English, which are super-focused on understanding, embodying, and practicing the eight core competencies. The sessions are 90 minutes long, with the exception of four 2-hour Practice Clinics, and include a combination of instruction, facilitated discussions, coaching practice, and feedback. The program also includes 7 hours of group mentoring (group size is maximum 10 participants), and 3 hours of one-to-one coaching between the PCC coach and MCC mentor coach. 37 asynchronous hours of MCC mentor coaching include a combination of coaching, being coached, journaling, independent reading, plus listening and reviewing a variety of MCC-level coaching sessions. Students create a community outside of live sessions and share their findings via the online classroom discussion forum.
