Interoperability between GPS and JRANS JRANS will comply with “ Principles for Cooperation”. ・No Direct fees ・Open market ・Open signal structure ・Protection of the current radio navigation spectrum ・Use GPS standards JRANSwill provide SIS similar to GPS L1 SPS signal . JRANS system time will be steered for UTC Japan. ・Interoperability for future GPS systems JRANS SIS will be compatible with GPS civil signal in L2 and L5. ・Recognition of international security

  3. Interoperability between JRANS and GPS Complete interoperability of JRANS with GPS is desired. User terminal of JRANS must receive both GPS and JRANS SIS.

  4. JRANS Interoperability • Validate JRANS and GPS performance based on GPS standards • Improve individual system through data and information interchange • Identify possible future improvements • US-Japan Cooperation is required for JRANS interoperability • with GPS L2 civil signal and L5 civil signal. • Not only interoperability with GPS but also interoperability with • SBAS should be considered in JRANS conceptual design.
