McGee was re-elected November of 2010, but resigned amid allegations of sexual harassment. He was serving as State Senate Majority Caucus Leader at the time. Noteworthy events Arrested for grand theft, drunken driving See also: Politicians convicted of DUI [5] In early Sunday morning, June 19, 2011, McGee was arrested for drunken driving and grand theft. The Ada County Sheriff’s Of?ce reported that McGee started drinking Saturday might at a golf course clubhouse and then began walking before coming to a Ford Excursion with a trailer hooked up. The SUV was unlocked with the keys inside. McGee got inside and drove away. [6] At some point in the night, McGee allegedly unsuccessfully tried to turn the vehicle and trailer around, jack- kni?ng the two. McGee eventually fell asleep in the Excursion. Two witnesses in a nearby house were watching all of the events transpire and called police. When police arrived McGee told authorities he was on his way to Jackpot. [7] He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI in July. Sexual harassment allegations, resignation On February 22, 2012, Republican Senate leaders announced McGee's resignation after allegations of sexual harassment against McGee came to light. The claims were made by an unidenti?ed Senate attache.
