Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an inflammation of the urinary system caused by bacteria. It is one of the most common types of bacterial infections. UTIs are usually treated with antibiotics. Symptomatic UTIs occur when bacteria cause symptoms such as burning during urination, pain while passing urine, cloudy urine, frequent urination, and blood in the urine, burning, and urgency.
