  1. «МикеланджелоБуонарроти»

  2. Biography The future artist Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in the city of Caprese in an aristocratic but impoverished family. Very early, in 1481, the boy lost his mother. After a while, his father sends him to a Florentine school. The young man did not show any special talents for studying, but he liked to communicate with creative people and redraw frescoes from local churches.

  3. At the age of 13, his father had to come to terms with the fact that Michelangelo wanted to be an artist. When he turned 14, Buonarotti enrolled in the school of the sculptor C. B. di Giovanni, who enjoyed the patronage of Lorenzo di Medici himself.

  4. In 1505, Michelangelo's life flowed to Rome, where he arrived at the invitation of Pope Julius II. He ordered a tomb for the artist. In the period 1508-1512, the master was working on another project of the pope - he painted the Sistine Chapel in the form of a biblical story. Despite the fact that the relationship between the two strong personalities was very complicated, the pontiff also commissioned his sculpture by Buonarotti.

  5. Biography Perhaps the most important stage in the artist's life was his appointment to the post of chief architect during the construction of St. Peter's Cathedral. And he didn't take a penny for his work. He managed to design a huge dome for the cathedral, which was installed and completed only after the death of the genius. Michelangelo Buonarotti died on February 18, 1564. He was buried in Rome. But in March of the same year, the artist's body was secretly transported to Florence.

  6.  He was a devout person. Michelangelo was the first artist in the world to be called a genius by his contemporaries during his lifetime and given the nickname "Divine". He is the first of a galaxy of Western artists whose biography was published during his lifetime. He lived for almost 89 years. Over the years, 13 Popes have been replaced — he carried out orders for 9 of them.
