Our kits developed through Absolute Mag™ platform are powerful tools for the scientists in the field of bioseparation, in vitro and in vivo diagnostics as well as cancer therapy. Magnetic beads possess infinite potential applications in biomedicine and biotechnology. Beads based bioseparation, immunoassay, drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and hyperthermia therapy have been developed and utilized extensively. Magnetic particles with appropriate functionalization exhibit good biocompatibility and dispersion in water solutions for biomedical applications. The most unique feature of magnetic particles is their reaction to magnetic force, which has wide range of applications on bioseparation, including isolation of cells, organelles, proteins, DNA/RNA and heavy metal ions. Beads based immunoassay has been applied in immunoprecipitation and multiplex immunoassay. Magnetic particles can generate heat by hysteresis loss under an alternating magnetic field, which endows them effective cancer hyperthermia therapy agents. Magnetic particles can also be used as contrast agent in MRI due to their high molar relaxivity. Combined with the drug delivery utilization, magnetic particles can serve as effective platform for cancer theranostics.
