  1. What Donations Does Habitat for Humanity Accept? Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to empower families, transform neighborhoods, and strengthen communities through affordable homeownership. We’re able to power this mission throughgenerous donations fromour community. We accept donations of time, labor, money, furniture, and household goods from individuals, families, and corporate groups. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can donate to the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, read on for more information! Donate Time and Labor on a Build Site! At Habitat one of the main ways we reduce costs for our homeowners is by using as much donated labor as possible. This can cut back the cost of building a home from $200,000 to as low as $90,000. The difference this makes in the monthly mortgage payments is how our homeowners are able to afford their Habitat homes. We have multiple programs, special events, and builds available. You can donate your time individually, with your family, with your coworkers, or with a group of friends who want to give back! Women Build Women Build is a program that Habitat started in 1991. Since then, we’ve seen groups of stong, capable women come together to help build safer, stronger communities. During our Women Build events, volunteers work under the guidance of an experienced construction professional. You can learn new skills or improve the ones you already have while also doing good for your immediate community. Invite your friends, family members, and female coworkers to foster empowerment and effect change! Build Sites We always have build sites that need volunteers to help us meet our deadlines. Whether you’re handy with a hammer or you have mean skills with a paint roller, we

  2. need you to help us put the finishing touches on homes for deserving families in your community. Volunteer on your own and make new friends or bring your friends with you for a unique and fulfilling bonding experience! We also offercorporate experiences for local businesseswho want a team building exercisethat also gives back! ReStore If the idea of working a construction site doesn’t appeal, we also have other options for volunteers who want to donate their time. You can work in one of our ReStores doing office work, restocking, or sales floor organization. The ReStore is a storefront that allows us to sell furniture and other household items that have been donated to Habitat. All of the profit goes directly into funding our mission and building homes for others. We accept donations from individuals as well as corporations who have gently used furniture that can be saved from the landfill and repurposed. You will receive receipts for the stated value of your donation upon delivery and you can use that to reduce your tax liability in the coming year. Make a Cash Donation! In addition to donations of time and household items, we also take individual and corporate cash donations. Any donation you make to the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity goes straight into building homes for deserving families in your community. All donations made to theDallas Area Habitat forHumanityare fully tax deductible. You’ll receive a receipt for the amount of your donation when it’s made.
