  1. Mini Bike 6.5 HP Engine Explained

  2. Most people are conversant with engine power in cc instead of hp. This is because even manufacturers mark their mini bikes’ power in cc. For instance, you will get mini bikes starting from 49cc and subsequently 100cc, 200cc, and more. But have you normally heard anybody talking about a mini bike6.5 hp enginethat translates into 212cc? Probably not.

  3. However, this is not a standard definition. Even though mini bike engines are marked in cc, there is a subtle difference between a 6.5 hp engine and the equivalent 212cc. Technically speaking, the two are not the same, as hp is a measure of the power of the engine while cc or cubic centimeters is the volume of displacement of the cylinders. However, they are talked about in the same breath because of the theory that the higher or lower the displacement of the cylinders, the more or less the power of the engine that is generated.

  4. Even then, this is not the rule of thumb as a lot of factors have to be taken into account before a realistic comparison can be made between the two. This is because an expert can tinker with a 6.5 hp engineand increase the power manifold though the same cannot be said of the displacement as any increase in cc of the engine will need reboring of the block, an impossibility.

  5. The power of a 6.5 hp engine can be increased by modifying the compression ratio of the engine, how fast the engine operates, and tinkering with the fuel/carburetor injection system. The placement of the valves and the type of fuel used are critical factors in the output of a 6.5 hp engine too.
