  1. Installation of windows and house doors Planning and execution of the installation of windows and house doors for new buildings and renovations The “Installation Guide for Windows and House Doors” describes the state of the art and the rules of technology as a standard work and had to be comprehensively revised because there have been many technical and normative changes since the last edition in 2014. On approx. 350 pages, the professional sealing, insulation and fastening as well as the static and structural basics of assembly are explained - scientifically sound and practical. It is therefore compulsory reading for all construction professionals and planners who want to assemble building elements properly. In particular, changes to heat / noise protection, building seals, rules for fastening, for fall protection as well as the design of floor-to-ceiling and barrier-free elements have been incorporated. There have been many technical and normative changes since the 2014 edition. A comprehensive revision of the assembly guidelines was therefore necessary in order to continue to reliably describe the state of the art. In particular, changes to DIN 4108 (thermal insulation and energy saving in buildings), DIN 4109 (sound insulation in building construction), DIN 18542 (joint sealing tapes), DIN 18531/18533 (building waterproofing), DIN ISO 9972 (air permeability of buildings) and current regulations on Fastening of windows with burglar resistance and fall protection requirements taken into account. The effects of the normative changes are complex and have been incorporated in different chapters. The innovations in the area of fastening will certainly find particular interest. There is now a more practical definition of the load cases with two standard cases and a special case, simple sample calculations for the professional dimensioning of the fastening, instructions for the procedure for fastening fall-proof elements as well as an expansion of the application range of burglar-resistant building elements to wall systems with highly heat-insulating bricks. That should certainly simplify the technical discussion with architects, builders, building supervisors and structural engineers. When using multifunctional sealing tapes, concerns of the Austrian assembly standard were taken into account. For the planner, the topic "Interface building sealing - building structure connection floor-level elements" was reworked and adapted to the current standardization, and the 2-stage assembly with advance frames was included as a variant with significant advantages in a new chapter. Chapter 7, Practical Implementation, has been supplemented by many examples for solving potential weak points such as the “trade hole” and for barrier-free threshold training. In chapter 8 new drawings were added and all thermal calculations (isotherms, psi values, R fi) were carried out anew in accordance with the changes to DIN 4108). This makes the assembly guide an ideal practical aid for the planning and execution of a professional window and external door assembly.
