  1. Know How to Choose IP/Network Cameras IP cameras are great if you want to be able to remotely monitor your property from another computer or your smartphone. They come in many different types and with different functions, so there should be one for every application. However, the selection process can be difficult as you will need to go over each of their features to find out which one is best for your needs. To save you from the trouble and stress, use this quick guide to choosing IP/network cameras online: •Identify your surveillance needs – Decide where you want the cameras installed: indoors or outdoors? Indoor IP cameras are compact with aesthetically pleasing designs that make them discreet and capable of blending in with the décor. Outdoor IP cameras must be weatherproof and rated IP68 to resist moisture, dust, and humidity. They must be heavy-duty and tough, too. •Find a reputable retailer – Browse the selection of high-quality IP network cameras from a reputable provider of security surveillance solutions. That way, you do not have to jump from one shop to another, and you can rely on a one-stop shop for everything you will need for your surveillance system. •Determine who will install the system – Wireless Wi-Fi and PoE IP/network cameras are great for DIY installations because you do not have to worry about complex wiring. PoE cameras will only require an Ethernet cable for power and data, and they can be a great choice if your property is bigger and spacious, as they are more capable of long-distance transmission. •How footage can be viewed or stored – Most IP cameras will let you save the videos, but find out how they can be stored. Some cameras come with their own storage devices, while others can upload the videos to an FTP server. •Compare cameras – Make a list of your major choices and compare their features, such as the viewing angles, resolution, smart video analysis capabilities, storage capacity and capability, etc. Learn about the warranty, too.
