  1. Why Paper Packaging Is Considered to Be More Eco-Friendly Singapore is a large city with the usual disadvantages of large-scale urbanisation for the environment. However Singaporeans have become quite aware of the hazard to the environment and have started using more eco-friendly materials like paper packaging Singapore in their everyday lives. Not just the government, but also the common citizens have taken it upon themselves to change their habits to become more eco-friendly. Paper is widely regarded by consumers today as a more environmentally friendly alternative to plastic. According to a European consumer preferences survey commissioned by Two Sides in 2020, 62% of consumers believe paper and cardboard packaging is better for the environment. At the same time, 70% of them said that they were actively working to reduce their use of plastic packaging. Although this survey was conducted in Europe, the same is also the growing trend in Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries. This is the reason that paper packaging industry is booming all over the world. This is especially true of semi-permanent packaging of food materials. in fact, there are also paper-based flexible packaging solutions for liquids and other products. However, it is to be noticed that plastic is not going to disappear very soon because it has made a stronghold around the world in the packaging industry. Not only packaging, but also other requirements are based on plastics. Here it is also to be mentioned that paper is completely recyclable and does not use any harmful, chemicals nor does it produce any toxic wastes during the recycling process. In spite of this many times, due to the careless usage by people, paper packaging material ends up in landfills. This kind of carelessness is to be avoided in order to make paper packaging Singapore and elsewhere to be more environment friendly. Not just the scientists and government, but also the common public should increase their endeavours in making proper use of the environment friendly paper packaging options
