Further, they are educated, guided, and trained regarding the ill effects and treatment of malocclusions in different types of patients. The students are also made aware of motivational skills so as to motivate the patients to undergo treatment.   5. Programme Objective • The department’s objective is to impart knowledge of Prenatal and postnatal growth of the head, face, and bone growth. They must also be able to do an assessment of growth and development, muscles of mastication, Development of dentition, and occlusion. • They must know the Basic anatomy, growth, metabolism as well as basic Dental Materials to be used in the treatment. Under Dental Materials, they must know about Gypsum products, impression materials, acrylics, composites, banding and bonding cement, wrought metal alloys, orthodontic archwires and brackets, elastics, applied physics, specification, tests methods, etc. • To impart confidence while patient dealing and public awareness campaigns. • They must know about applied research in orthodontics as well as recent ongoing trends too. https://www.mmumullana.org/course/mds-in-orthodontics
