  2. Tortoises and turtles are both narrowly connected reptiles from the similar family (chelonian or Testudines). The key difference between the two reptiles is that tortoises live on land and turtles are water residing ones. Turtle shell is light compared to a tortoise. https://www.worldturtleday.org/
