  1. GRUNDTVIG 2 LEARNING PARTNERSHIPS & THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNER INVOLVEMENT

  2. What is the point of a Learning Partnership? How can we encourage more people to take part?

  3. Adult learners involved in Learning Partnerships can develop key skills and attributes, such as: • increased self-confidence and self-esteem • greater motivation to continue learning • improved interpersonal skills

  4. In order for them to do this, a good Learning Partnership project should be - • stimulating and relevant • motivating • FUN!

  5. Quotes from Adult Learners: • It has made us aware of being a part of a wider, international community; it has given us a sense of ‘belonging’ together. • I was so pleased to hear about the ideas of educating the Professionals to listen to the parents. This would make such a difference for us! • I really like the idea of having a network of Parents to help educate, and inform other parents about what is available.

  6. Other Quotes.... • These European things were going to be more use to the younger generation and I was content to sit on the sidelines. • it has been tremendously valuable for them to see other ways of working, exchange information, and make comparisons between the various partners, not only at the level of study but also on a personal basis. • All have grown and learnt through the experience and the project is sparking several spin-off ideas and activities.

  7. and finally… Grundtvig himself said that education should be available throughout life and should embrace citizenship and personal and cultural development. How can Learning Partnership projects seek to meet this aim without the direct involvement of the very people for whom they are intended?
