  1. Purpose of Tachymeter Watches The purpose of a Tachymeter Watch, which measures speed by measuring how long it takes to travel a distance, is to determine speed. It depends upon you what exactly you want, i.e., if you want to calculate your speed using a tachymeter, you will need to have a reliable distance from which to work. Tachymeter watches are amongst the Popular Men Watches. Mile markers on the highway are perfect, but you can also work from other distances. You'll need to do some mental calculations at the end. Refrain from using your maps app. How to Check Speed The chronograph should be started as soon as you reach your starting point. It should then be stopped once you have travelled the distance you are measuring. The second hand will point at the tachymeter scale. This is your average speed. A tachymeter scale works exactly the same way no matter what measurement you are using. Remember that speed and distance must be equal. You can calculate your speed in mph if you measure your time over a mile; the same applies to kilometres. Note on accuracy: Your measurements will only be as accurate as your timing. Whether you start or stop the chronograph one second earlier or later will impact your calculations. It's possible to be fairly accurate down at the realistic end of the spectrum, which is under 200mph. As you can see from the scale, the slower you go, the more precise your measurement should be.

  2. Measuring Distance Although it's not the intended purpose, you can still use a tachymeter to measure distance in reverse. To get accurate distance measurements, you will need to ensure that your speed is constant. A tachymeter measures average speed. If that is the case, you can start timing. Once the second-hand matches your speed, you have travelled a mile (or one kilometre) as before. You can also double or halve this speed, just like before. Measurement of Other Things Although it may not be as useful for the average chronograph owner unless you are conducting a time and motion study of your local plant, you can still use a Tachymeter to measure any production over a certain period.

  3. Stop timing once one unit has been manufactured, painted, or any other task. The tachymeter will tell you how many can be produced in one hour. Looking for a tachymeter watch to buy online?
