Why We Should Elect Melvin to Be Our Next Sheriff for Guilford County • Our First Amendment Rights to free speech are being attacked. • Our Second Amendment Rights to gun ownership are being scrutinized. • Our schools desperately need to become more secure with a stronger Law Enforcement presence. • The dedicated officers in the Guilford County Sheriff's Office deserve better leadership.

First Amendment Rights • Melvin strongly supports our First Amendment rights. we should feel free to speak at school board meetings regarding your child’s education without concerns about Law Enforcement involvement. Additionally, you should feel free to participate in any other official or unofficial meetings regarding what's happening in your community.

  4. Gun Rights • Right now, it takes almost a year to receive your gun permit under this Sheriff. The standard time is 45 days. Melvin will ensure that the 45 day (or less) time limit is strictly adhered to while processing your gun permit application.
