  3. Basic Requirements • 120 hours minimum • 2.00 overall GPA • 2.00 U of M GPA • Residency • 42 upper-division hours [3000 and 4000] • No more than 42 hours in any one subject

  4. TBR General Education Requirements[Fall 2009 Catalog] • Communication (ENGL 1010 and 1020, COMM 2381) • Humanities and/or Fine Arts (ENGL 2201 or 2202 plus six additional hours from approved list) • Social/Behavioral Sciences (6 hours) • History (two courses from approved list) • Natural Science (8 hours) • Mathematics (3 hours)

  5. B.A./B.S. Requirements • The B.A. and B.S. degrees have additional requirements beyond General Education! Foreign Language Fine Arts for B.A. Upper-division Humanities Additional Social Science Additional Math or Natural Science

NEW for Fall 2010 Catalog • HIST 1110 and 1120 are now in the re-named “History” category for General Education • In the new “History” category, students may take any two courses on the list [they do not have to take at least one of 2010 and 2020] • ARTH 2101 and 2102 [World Art I and II] are now on the General Education Humanities/Fine Arts list

  7. Filing for Graduation • All Arts and Sciences students must file their intent to graduate online. You should do so at least one year before the beginning of the semester in which you wish to graduate. • It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of the filing deadlines [April 7 for Summer 2010, July 21 for Fall 2010, November 17 for Fall 2011], although students in Arts and Sciences must file well before these deadlines in order to receive their summary early enough to make sure that all requirements are fulfilled.

Taking Courses Elsewhere • If you decide to take any courses at another institution, you must first complete a Transfer Credit Request form [Admissions, 101 Wilder] • You must have the approval of your advisor and the Dean’s Office before you take courses elsewhere • You may not take more than 20 total hours of coursework, all institutions combined [unless you have an overload approved]
