Rabishield

Rabishield is used as a prevention of Rabies infection in people suspected of exposure to the virus. Rabies is a fatal but preventable viral disease. It can spread to people and pets if they are bitten or scratched by a rabid animal. Rabies is usually transmitted through an animal bite, for example, from stray dogs. It is an acute, progressive disease caused by the rabies virus belonging to the Rhabdoviridae family.

  1. Rabishield Rabishield is used as a prevention of Rabies infection in people suspected of exposure to the virus. Rabies is a fatal but preventable viral disease. It can spread to people and pets if they are bitten or scratched by a rabid animal. Rabies is usually transmitted through an animal bite, for example, from stray dogs. It is an acute, progressive disease caused by the rabies virus belonging to the Rhabdoviridae family. Though this infection is 100% fatal, it is 100% preventable with the implementation of timely measures and the correct use of available vaccines, immunoglobulins, or monoclonal antibodies. Symptoms of Rabies include fever, headache, excess salivation, muscle spasms, paralysis, and mental confusion. Rabishield 100IU Injection is composed of Rabies Human Monoclonal Antibody. It is prescribed post- exposure (by an animal bite, scratch, etc.) to prevent rabies infection. This injection is prepared using recombinant DNA technology. It does not involve blood serum, which gives it a better safety profile. Rabishield is an IgG1 human monoclonal antibody. This antibody binds to the extracellular space of the G glycoprotein and neutralizes a wide variety of rabies viruses. Rabishield is available at INR 1726 only at MrMed.
