  17. -’s without a noun You can use -’s without a noun if we understand which noun. Peter’s hair is short but Patrick’s is long. (= Patrick’s hair) ‘Whose coat is this?’ ‘It’s Steven’s.’ (=Steven’s coat) Diana’s dog is a Labrador but Nancy’s is a Fox Terrier. (= Nancy’s dog)

  18. -’s with plural nouns …most plural nouns in English end in –s. We use –’s for singular nouns… My friend’s book friend / friends …we add only the apostrophe ’ to a plural noun. The student’s homework. The students’ homework.

  24. -’s with irregular plural nouns Some nouns have an irregular plural (you don’t add –s): woman women man men child children we add -’s to (not -’) The women’s clothes. The children’s school. The womens’ clothes The childrens’ school.

  27. of… with things and places For things, ideas and places, we often use of… Trisha’s apartment is on the 5th floor. (Trisha is a person) I did not see the end of the film. (a film is a thing) The capital of Chinais Beijing. (China is a place) The title of the book is The Glass Bead. But sometimes you can also use -’s The book’s title is The Glass Bead.
